Camp Eagle 2026 Recap
/From July 6–11, 2026, youth and adults from Devine First United Methodist Church, Kerrville First United Methodist Church, and Quihi Bethlehem Lutheran Church came together for an unforgettable week at Camp Eagle in Rocksprings, Texas. In all, 27 campers and eight adult sponsors participated in a week that was Christ-centered, relationship-rooted, and adventure-fueled.
Water Barrels
This year’s theme was Discover, and throughout the week, campers focused on discovering the one thing that brings us all together: Jesus! Together, the group journeyed through several of Paul’s letters and reflected on what his words mean for followers of Christ today. By the end of the week, there was one conclusion everyone could agree on: if Paul were here today, we’d definitely be getting a letter, too!
The week was filled with opportunities to grow in faith, deepen relationships, and step outside of comfort zones. Campers hiked approximately 26 miles and participated in team-building and high-element activities including Shipwrecked, drift trikes, the underground mine, 3D Web, Super Swing, Sherpa, rock climbing, and a 3,000-foot zip line.
There was also plenty of time to cool off in the Nueces River—whether swimming at the waterfront, playing with water barrels, or kayaking.
At the heart of the Camp Eagle experience was worship. Worship sessions were powerful and Spirit-filled, and the week’s speaker brought Scripture to life during Bible studies, helping campers see familiar passages from new perspectives. Together, campers and sponsors danced, prayed, worshiped, encouraged one another, and formed meaningful new friendships.
Youth Worship
The connections made at camp continued after everyone returned home. Pastor Michelle Keith of Devine First UMC and Pastor Katie Toalson of Kerrville First UMC visited one another’s churches for their Camp Recap Sundays, with campers joining them to share some of their favorite experiences from the week. Their highlights included worship, Bible study, adventure, and the deep connections they made with new friends.

What a blessing it is to see young people grow in their faith, build relationships across congregations, and worship God with joy and confidence. Camp Eagle was more than a week away—it was an opportunity to discover Christ, community, and the ways God is at work in and through the lives of our youth.
