Wesley United Methodist Church Receives 2026 One Matters Award

Wesley United Methodist Church in the Rio Texas Conference has been recognized with the 2026 One Matters Award, presented by Discipleship Ministries of The United Methodist Church.
The One Matters Award celebrates congregations that demonstrate a commitment to making disciples of Jesus Christ through intentional, life-changing ministry. Presented annually by Discipleship Ministries, the award recognizes churches that are faithfully serving their communities and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ.
The award was presented during the 2026 Rio Texas Annual Conference by Diana Sanchez-Bushong, Executive Director of Worship Ministries and Director of Music Ministries at Discipleship Ministries.
In a letter accompanying the award, Discipleship Ministries recognized Wesley United Methodist Church's "outstanding service to the community and its significant contributions to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."
Accepting the award on behalf of the congregation was Rev. Joseph Tobias, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church.
