Volunteers Needed as Early Response Efforts Continue Across Central Texas
/Trained Early Response Team (ERT) volunteers are actively deploying to communities impacted by recent flooding across Central Texas. As the Early Response phase continues, additional trained volunteers are needed to help families take their first steps toward recovery.
As communities begin the difficult work of cleaning out homes and assessing damage, the Rio Texas Conference is coordinating volunteer opportunities to ensure assistance is provided safely, effectively, and where it is needed most.
Disaster Recovery Coordinators continue assessing impacted communities while Early Response Teams (ERTs) deploy alongside local churches and community partners to provide immediate assistance following the disaster.
Current Volunteer Need: Early Response Teams
The greatest need right now is for trained Early Response Team (ERT) volunteers.
ERTs provide a caring Christian presence while helping homeowners begin the recovery process through:
Muck-outs
Debris removal
Tarping damaged roofs
Property clean-up
Other early recovery work that helps make homes safe and ready for the next phase of rebuilding
ERT volunteers do not rebuild homes. Instead, they help families take the critical first steps that prepare homes for long-term recovery.
