Clergy Choir for Annual Conference

Due to changes in this year’s annual conference, the opportunity for clergy to participate in a clergy choir looks a little bit different.  Please make a note of the following details:

Clergy choir members are invited to join with members of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Austin to sing for the service of commissioning and ordination on Saturday morning of Annual Conference.

Clergy wishing to sing need to plan to attend at least one (and preferably more than one) rehearsal in Austin.  We realize this makes it difficult or impossible for some to participate, but due to the conference schedule, there is no opportunity for the choirs to rehearse together during conference.

Rehearsals at St. John’s UMC in Austin will be held on Wednesdays, May 22 and 29 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  There will also be a rehearsal on Saturday, June 1, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Anthems for the service include “Ubi Caritas” by Ola Gjeilo, “Order My Steps” by Glenn Burleigh, “Creation of Peace” by Mark Miller, and “Be Thou My Vision” arr. by John Leavitt.
