Calling all Local Pastors (retired, licensed, unassigned) and Associate Members to our September 15 & 16, 2025, Fellowship and Training Event! At this time of MOVING FORWARD, the ministry of our Local Pastors and Associate Members is critical to the movement of our congregations toward making disciples of Jesus Christ. This retreat is intended to be a great place to start this blessed work. Our time together will focus on worship, fellowship, learning, sharing, and, of course, prayer.
The location is Drury Inn & Suites, North Stone Oak, 801 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio (see below for additional information). On-site check-in begins at 10:30 on September 15. This event is from 12 noon on September 15 until 12 noon on September 16, with a special 'field trip' in the early afternoon on the 16th for those who are able to make an additional stop on their way home.
Feel free to bring your family, as the Stone Oak community offers shopping, dining, and access to San Antonio's attractions. The hotel offers a marvelous breakfast and evening "Kick-Back" meal at no additional cost, as well as free popcorn, soft drinks, and even hot dogs to take to your room for late-night movie watching. Oh, be sure they bring swim trunks!
And, if your church is discerning incorporating or expanding the use of technologies for in-house or streamed worship, Ralph Thompson, our former Conference Lay Leader and a seasoned professional, will offer a workshop to introduce solutions for your churches, regardless of its budget! You may want to bring your computer for his presentation.
Even if you can't make the retreat, please complete the first set of questions so we can get your information into our database.
Two more optional activities if you are attending the retreat:
Book exchange/swap: As you are moving or going through your professional library, if you have books you no longer need or want, please bring them to the retreat so someone else might be blessed by your 'no longer needed' or duplicate resources.
Bring a cross to leave on a table during the retreat, pick up a different cross as you leave on Tuesday.
