Rio Texas Financial Services Accounting & Project Coordinator

Are you an experienced accounting or finance professional who enjoys more than just working with numbers? Do you thrive on organization, problem-solving, coordinating projects, and helping others succeed? The Rio Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church is looking for a Financial Services Accounting & Project Coordinator to join our team and play an important role in supporting the financial and operational work of the Conference. This is a unique opportunity to combine accounting, project coordination, and property administration in a role where your work directly supports local churches, clergy, Conference leaders, and ministry across Central and South Texas.
In this role, you will:
Support accounting functions including reconciliations, disbursements, invoices, reimbursements, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
Assist with apportionment calculations and Equitable Compensation Commission administration.
Support the financial and administrative management of Conference-owned church properties.
Coordinate property documentation, leases, vendors, real estate activities, and related projects.
Prepare reports, presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence, and other professional materials.
Help strengthen financial processes, internal controls, efficiency, and accountability.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has a minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Brings 5–7 years of progressively responsible accounting, finance, or financial administration experience.
Is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Has strong communication and project coordination skills.
Is proficient with Microsoft 365, especially Excel, and comfortable learning new financial and database systems.
Handles confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Experience in nonprofit/church administration or property/real estate administration is a plus.
Has a demonstrated commitment to the mission of The United Methodist Church.
