The vision of Transformational Communities Network is made up of local churches, community residents, and partners actively seeking shalom through learning, relationship building, community development, and mutual support. The mission is to equip locally embedded leaders with training and ongoing support for the work of shalom.

Building Shalom in Our Communities is based on Jeremiah 29:7 where the Lord calls Israel and tells us today to seek the shalom of the city....to pray...on its behalf, for in its shalom you will find your shalom.

SHALOM is also used as a guiding development framework that articulates seeking systemic sustainable transformation, systemic and sustainable transformation, health; healing, harmony, and wholeness; Assett-Based Community Development; Loving God, Neighbor, and Self; Organizing for Community Transformation; multisector, cultural, and faith collaboration.
