In the wake of the violent attack of First Baptist Church, Sutherland Springs, a number of churches have reached out to the conference office for guidance and resources for keeping congregations safe. We believe that all churches should have plans in place in case of emergencies. Emergencies can include weather events, medical emergencies, and unfortunately, the potential for violence.
Prior to the recent tragedy, the annual conference was working with our insurer, Church Mutual, to provide church safety training. This training is being planned for spring of 2018. In the meantime, we have assembled the following resources to help your church create and implement a safety plan.
