Delegates:
Rio Texas Annual Conference will begin next week, and the leaders of the Conference and the Conference staff are excited about our time together in McAllen at the McAllen Convention Center.
In my previous letter I discussed the mask guidelines that were based on the COVID-19 transmission rates in February. The CDC has released new guidelines for persons who are gathering, and it is based on County data which includes hospitalizations, transmission rates and other data. The Hidalgo County rate is considered LOW. That means that masks are optional depending on your current medical situation. Also, we ask in concert with the Center for Disease Control that all of us,
o Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines,
o Get tested if you have symptoms. (If you test positive or have a fever wear a mask and maintain safe physical distance from people as well as consider isolating yourself.)
Given the size of our event we will be unable to meet distancing guidelines. We will strive to keep a clean environment. We ask that you also consider the safety of other delegates, friends, family and all persons as you enjoy the sights and ministries of the Rio Grande Valley.
See you in McAllen, June 8-10, 2022.
Blessings,
Mickey McCandless
Conference Secretary
