Associate Director of Student Ministries

First United Methodist Church, Georgetown, Texas, is currently seeking a full-time Associate Director of Student Ministries who will work with students, parents and volunteers to inspire and lead them as disciples of Jesus Christ in relationship with God, each other and the community. This person must be driven by their faith in Jesus, outgoing and able to work with students and adults in a way that builds healthy, God-centered relationships. The job is full time and requires flexible work hours that include evenings and weekends on the church campus as well as attending local school and community events. 

Job Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Student Ministries partners with and is guided by the Director of Student Ministries. 
This person’s relationship with God and the way that relationship guides their life is a high priority for this ministry because of its visibility among students and the community. 
The role requires one to be outgoing, organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing community of students. 
This is a grade 5 through 12 ministry that includes helping organize small groups and leaders, planning and organizing Sunday evening student worship, Sunday morning studies, mission and outreach activities as well as fellowship/recreation events and coordinating volunteers for same. 
The ministry also involves caring for students and their families during illness or crisis. 

Job Requirements
Applicant must be a committed Christian who feels called to ministry with students and is excited about working in an open and accepting United Methodist Church environment with the following qualifications: 
• A good sense of humor, an ability to have fun and play
• Strong personal faith consistent with United Methodist theology
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience working with students
• The ability to establish appropriate boundaries and meeting the requirements for our Ministry Safe protection policies are minimum requirements. 

Hours and Compensation
The job is full time salaried exempt. Compensation will be based on education and experience. Health insurance and savings plan benefits are available.
