Position Overview:
We are seeking someone with a passion for the ministry of United Methodist Communications and The United Church, with a strong communications training and development background. The Senior Training & Development Specialist is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of training content and tools that address the communications training needs of The United Methodist Church and United Methodist Communications, emphasis will be on communications training. This position focuses on development of training programs (online, face-to-face, and blended), resources and assistance for local churches, districts, US Annual Conferences and Central Conferences. Strong presentation skills and the ability to deliver trainings, workshops and classes with great diplomacy is an essential component of this position.

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in adult learning, training and online learning; instructional design and course development, information technology and communications, educational technology; social learning, or a related field.
• Four years of experience in education with adult learners, training online and blended learning, instructional design, communications and digital technology is required.
• Must be a diplomatic trainer with solid presentation skills to varied audiences including individuals and groups
• Proficiency in Moodle or similar Learning Management System is required Proficiency in online course creation software is required. Articulate Storyline or Articulate 360 preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite applications, including: MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Outlook. Experience with image editing programs (Photoshop or similar), desktop publishing (Adobe InDesign), audio/video applications (Camtasia or similar) and web-based content management systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of The United Methodist Church is needed.
