Coffee Shop Manager

Lookout Coffee and Community is seeking a coffee shop and outreach manager for a small local coffee shop in collaboration with Hope Arise UMC.

Employment Status: Full Time Salary

Reports To: Executive Director; Coffee Shop Board

DUTIES:

Food Products

● Responsible for weekly inventory and ordering of products

● Maintain the cost effectiveness of the ministry through good inventory management

practices

● Maintains all health code/food handler requirements including FIFO and “end of life

purging” of products

● Ensures all food/beverage products are prepped and replenished as needed throughout

the week

● Oversees consistency of products and collaboration of new product development

Facility Management

● Maintain a clean working establishment for other team members and customers

● Maintain maintenance logs

Financial Oversight

● Ensures deposits are made according to guidelines in a timely fashion and change is

obtained for the register drawer daily at end of day.

● Assist in maintaining the overall financial health of the ministry by controlling costs,

driving revenue, and seeking opportunities to improve.

● Meet monthly with bookkeeper for reconciliation, scan all receipts into quickbooks and

ensure taxes get paid timely.

● Run payroll (bi-monthly) and consignment at end of month.

● Maintain menu and pricing in Square

● Handle accounts payable.

Team and Customer Care

● Responsible for monthly scheduling of all paid staff/volunteers and ongoing reserved

space calendar

● Ensure all team members are fully trained in all areas

● Maintain a strong, positive and professional working environment that attracts and

retains qualified team members

● Educating team members and community on The Lookout’s mission and vision

● Help maintain an attractive, inviting and hospitable space for customers

● Ensure all team members comply with health and food safety best practices.

● Works in conjunction with and delegates to team members

Starting Wage: Commensurate with experience

Experience & skills preferred:

Previous food/beverage management (coffee shop preferred)

Customer Service experience

Food Manager Certification

Knowledge of:

Square

Quickbooks

Google Suite

Canva

Social media platforms

Vendor website/apps purchasing
