Administrative Assistant

St John’s UMC is seeking a personable individual to fill the position of permanent part-time Administrative Assistant.

Job Summary – as an integral member of the church staff team, the administrative assistant will have primary responsibility in several areas:

  • Hours will be from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
  • Reports to Pastor or Chair SPRC
  • Receiving people during office hours (visitors and telephone contact)
  • Coordinating the bookings for church facilities
  • Supporting the pastor and the chairpersons of committees as requested

Skills Required - 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Word perfect or processing (familiarity with Microsoft Word)
  • Computer skills (including e-mail proficiency)
  • Operating knowledge of office equipment, (i.e. Xerox copier, fax machine etc.)


  • Starting salary will be $13.00 per hour based on a 20 hour week with flexible work times
  • Pay increases will be commensurate with experience and skill level
  • Exempt Employee
