THE GATHERING EXISTS TO CREATE A CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY THAT IS COMPELLING FOR NEW GENERATIONS OF PEOPLE IN ST. LOUIS.

The Gathering first held worship on September 17, 2006 in a historic sanctuary building on McCausland Avenue, at the edge of the city near Maplewood. In the years since, the church has expanded and spread across the city of St. Louis. The second site to open, in another historic Methodist church building, is located in the heart of Clayton. On Sunday evenings they move into Humphrey’s Restaurant and Tavern near the campus of St. Louis University for Bar Church. Most recently they have started worshiping in Webster Groves at Steger Elementary School.

Since its beginning, The Gathering has continued to see dramatic growth. Multiple sites, numerous worship services, a variety of small groups, a blossoming children’s ministry, and a commitment to serving their city and world are just a few of the ways in which they are expanding their reach.

Registration is not necessary but is appreciated, so we know how many to plan for.

The Capital District is also hosting Matt in Austin the day prior, on Monday, April 24.  They have opened that time to others from Rio Texas.  If that date works better for you, or you are interested in attending for any reason, please contact Jill Barre in the district office, 512.444.1983 or jbarre@capitaldistrictumc.org
