Lead Preschool Teacher

St. John’s Children Learning Center is seeking a Lead Teacher.

St John's Children Learning Center Lead Teacher plans and implements the daily curriculum for children in the classroom including creating and capturing opportunities for children to begin developing a relationship with God, exposing children to values and beliefs about Christ through our walk and talk. Oversees and coordinates the children's personal care, hygiene, learning activities, specialized programs and positive guidance. Maintains classroom records and developmental checklist. Ensures that classroom and other play areas are consistently clean and safe. Inform parents of their children's progress on a daily basis. Supervises and directs activities of assistant teacher assigned to the classroom. Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run, lift and carry children. Keep director and assistant director informed on a timely basis of pertinent issues regarding staff, children, families, and the program.

The Lead Teacher reports directly to the director and/or assistant director, he/she also takes direction from other center management personnel.

The Lead Teacher must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience. Must be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check. Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in early education. A minimum of 12 college hours in Early Education, a CDA credential, an associate degree and/or a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.

The Lead teacher must also possess a valid and current CPR & First Aid certificate and food handler’s permit.

The Lead teacher must maintain at least 30 hours of training each year.
