Assistant Preschool Teacher

St John’s Children Learning Center is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher.

St John’s Children Learning Center Assistant Teacher, under the direction of the lead teacher, assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children. Duties will include the following: assisting in the implementation of curriculum, activities, lesson plans, and spiritual development; use positive guidance techniques consistent with state licensing regulations; help establish developmentally appropriate room arrangement, décor, and learning environment in the classroom; interacts professionally with current and prospective families; and accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled staff are not available.

The Assistant teacher reports directly to the Director and/or assistant director; he/she takes day-to-say direction and instruction from the Lead Teacher.

The Assistant teacher must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience. Previous work experience is preferred.

The Assistant teacher must also possess a valid and current CPR & First Aid certificate and food handler’s permit.

The Assistant teacher must maintain at least 30 hours of training each year.
