In 1966, farm workers marched from the Rio Grande Valley to the state capitol in Austin to demand higher wages and better working conditions. A large crowd stood at San Fernando in heavy rain to greet them, and a thousand supporters filled the church for a mass in their honor.
En 1966 la unión de labradores marchó desde el valle del Río Grande de Texas al capitolo en Austin demandanado aumento de sueldo y el mejoramiento de sus condiciones de trabajo.
