The Lead Teacher’s primary responsibility is to provide a safe, stimulating place where each child can grow and learn in a warm, accepting social environment. In addition to being concerned about the child’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social self, the teacher will establish a relationship with the child’s parents that will lead to a mutual sharing of support and concern for the child.
UUMC ECC is a diverse, play-based, co-operative school. Each child is regarded as an important, likeable, capable individual, and children are encouraged to develop independence and confidence in their abilities by making choices through positive guidance and re-direction. Established in 1971 by University UMC, ECC uses church facilities and serves 40+ families consisting of UT students and staff, church members and other members of the community. University UMC is a reconciling, welcoming, progressive Methodist church in the heart of downtown Austin, adjacent to the University of Texas.
