FACILITY MANAGER

FUMC Boerne is looking to hire a Facility Manager. The Facility Manager will report to the Senior Pastor.

Position Status: Full-time, Exempt

Position Overview:
• Responsible for supervision of buildings and grounds, according to established guidelines and in cooperation with the Board of Trustees.
• Coordinates use of church facilities to include logistics for various activities. Supervise facility set-up staff, contract cleaning service, and other facility service providers.
• Coordinates with Trustee committee for church volunteer work.
• Responsible for maintaining and scheduling the maintenance of church facilities.

Position Skill Requirements:
• Operation of office machinery (computers, copiers, folders, calculators, etc.). Facility maintenance knowledge and ability
• Supervisory skills
• Written & verbal communication skills–with peers, staff, trustees, and other church members
• Assist in formulating Trustee annual budget
• Office organization: prioritizing, scheduling, filing, and managing time and tasks

Job Duties:

Facilities
• Ensure day-to-day operation of the church facilities
• Establish and maintain safety and security of facilities
• Ensure lawn & grounds maintenance is provided per contract
• Ensure trash collection on timely basis, including additional service as needed
• Coordinate needed logistics and calendar for Sunday worship services, weddings, funerals, seasonal worship, district functions, and other church activities (including events for outside parties)
• Communicate facility repair/replacement needs to Board of Trustees
• Maintain church calendar and use of facilities
• Maintains church property/inventory records

Administration
• Maintain an active vendor list for repair & service for facilities/equipment
• Maintain records on equipment/maintenance service schedules
• Ensure annual inspections are current for alarm equipment, fire extinguishers, elevators, etc.
• Maintain & update Facilities Use Policy and ensure facility users operate within guidelines
• Ensure all facilities are prepared for use as requested via Resource/Facility request forms
• Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies
• Additional duties as requested by the Senior Pastor

Personnel
• Responsible for supervision of the custodial & set-up staff
• Responsible for oversight of appropriate contract service providers (custodial service, lawn service, pest control, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, security system, locksmith, elevator, etc.)

Contacts:
Internal: Senior Pastor, Staff Members, Committee Chairs and members of the Congregation
External District and Conference offices, sales representatives, vendors, local Institutions and Resources.

Accountability:
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Smooth and timely operation of custodial care of the building and grounds. Smooth operation and completion of additional tasks related to administration that may be assigned for operation of the church's mission.

Decisions:
• Makes independent decisions regarding purchase of supplies and equipment, according to established procedures and budgets.
• Makes independent decisions regarding scheduling and use of church facilities, according to established policies & procedures.
• Makes independent decisions regarding security and safety of building and grounds, in accordance with established policies & procedures.

Performance Measurements:
• Accuracy of data submitted and timely reports.
• Overall efficiency and effectiveness as determined.
• Fiscal responsibility.
• Keeps supervisor informed and obtains concurrence of plans, special requirements, teaching materials, proposed expenditures, etc.

Education/Experience:
• 5+ years of maintenance and facility management experience
• General knowledge of city, state and federal building/fire codes
• Problem-solving ability when faced with issue regarding facility utilization, issues, repairs, etc.

Work Conditions:
• Required to work using any tools necessary to accomplish maintenance duties as assigned.
• Must be prepared to work inside or outside – regardless of temperature/weather conditions
• Must have ability to accomplish jobs requiring heavy lifting (>50 lbs)
