Job Description:
Communications and Media Coordinator
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing administrative and clerical support for staff and ministry leaders, managing technologies and communications throughout the church.
1. Pray for the church.
2. Communication Duties
Coordinate with staff and ministry teams as needed to promote church events and
activities.
Receive and respond to general and congregational emails, maintain church email accounts, maintain emailed list of recipients.
Create, print, and fold weekly worship bulletin.
Create & send weekly mass email to congregation.
Create and print a monthly newsletter for distribution.
Maintain web and social media presence: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. update
website & blog.
Update, create, and design marketing, PR, advertisements in newspapers, radio,
magazines, etc.
Design and coordination of photo and video productions including testimonies, sermons,
services, missions, ministries, outreach, special projects, special advertisements (email,
slides, website, flyers) brochures, directories, etc.
Order and maintaining church office supplies and inventory.
Respond to communication requests from individuals and determine best placement for
advertising.
Research and bring new ideas to ministry leaders to enhance current communication
processes.
Create and distribute weekly announcement for services.
Maintain shared calendar and keep schedule of activities.
Attend weekly staff meetings – Wednesdays 10:00 am.
Attend Executive Team meetings and take minutes.
Keep side electric marque up-to-date.
Keep answering machine-to-date.
3. Other Duties as assigned
EDUCATION
Associates or comparable experience
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role. Must have good organizational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be an enthusiastic team player, must have excellent computer skills, a basic understanding of a network, be proficient with word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, social medias, and other software programs. Some experience with graphic design and video software a plus. Must be a quick learner, good listener and excellent
interpersonal skills. Must be flexible and adapt quickly to change.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to type, communicate verbally on the phone and electronically, able to sit and stand for long periods of time, crouch and bend as needed for wiring and moving, and must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
HOURS
Hourly position Approx. 25 hours week (non-exempt)
