Status: Full-Time (40 hours, Swing Shift, Sunday - Thursday)

Principle Function
The primary responsibility of the Campus Custodian for Bee Creek United Methodist Church is to clean the church facilities, assist with room setup, and perform routine and preventative maintenance on the buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems for the church campus. This person will need to work cooperatively with the Executive Pastor and the Executive Assistant to the Pastors in assisting with areas needing special attention.
Core Responsibilities
• Clean the inside of all buildings on BCUMC campus
• Setup tables and chairs for meetings/events as needed.
• Lock all buildings when duties are completed.
• Assist with minor repairs on BCUMC campus.
• Assist with scheduled and non-periodic maintenance as directed.
Essential Responsibilities
CLEANING
Worship Center
Sanctuary:
• Weekly> dust off chairs, vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, vacuum and mop floors, clean stage area, clean glass doors, frames, and partitions.
• Monthly> clean reachable windows.
Foyer and Hallways:
• Weekly> vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, remove trash, clean all glass areas, clean drinking fountain, clean entryway carpets.
• Monthly> dust and clean light fixtures.
Sunrise Room:
• Weekly> dust off chairs, dust window sills, clean table tops, vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, clean glass doors, frames, and partitions, remove trash.
• Monthly> clean reachable windows, dust light fixtures and clock,
Kitchen:
• Weekly> clean and mop floor, clean countertops, clean appliance surface areas, clean sinks, remove trash.
• Monthly> clean inside refrigerators, freezers, sweep and mop pantry, clean oven and stove if needed.
Bathrooms:
• Weekly> clean countertops, clean toilets, clean and mop floors, refill soap, toilet paper and towel dispensers, clean mirrors, clean entry doors, remove trash, clean baby changing area, run water through all drains.
• Monthly> clean light fixtures
Cabins:
• Weekly> vacuum and mop floors, vacuum carpet, clean spills on carpet, clean kitchen areas, clean countertops, clean bathroom areas, add water to drains in bathrooms, dust window shades.
• Monthly> clean windows inside and out, clean light fixtures, clean porch areas.
Multi-purpose Building:
Youth Room:
• Weekly> clean and mop floor, clean countertops, clean sink, clean tables and chairs, clean couches, dust television, shake out door mats, remove trash.
• Monthly> clean inside refrigerator/freezer, clean and mop storage room, clean appliances if needed, clean windows inside and out, clean light fixtures, clean porch areas.
Bathrooms:
• Weekly> clean countertops, clean toilets, clean and mop floors, refill soap, toilet paper and towel dispensers, clean mirrors, clean entry doors, remove trash, clean baby changing area, run water through all drains.
• Monthly> clean light fixtures
Soda Shop and Stage:
• Weekly> clean tables and chairs, clean and mop floors, remove trash, dust window shades.
• Monthly> clean windows inside and out, clean light fixtures, clean glass on “garage” doors, clean glass doors.
Main Entrance and Office:
• Weekly> clean and mop floors, clean all glass doors and windows, dust furniture, shake door mats, clean entrance and porch areas, remove trash.
• Monthly> clean light fixtures, dust window shades.
Gymnasium:
• Weekly> clean and mop floors, clean and mop bathroom, clean toilet and sink, refill soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers, clean mirrors, remove trash, maintain equipment storage room in an orderly manner, shake door mats, clean entrance and porch areas.
• Monthly> clean light fixtures, clean team benches and bleachers.
Church Office:
• Weekly> sweep and mop floors, vacuum carpets, clean spills on carpets, clean kitchen area, clean countertops, clean bathroom areas, refill soap, toilet paper, and towel dispensers, clean mirrors, dust furniture and filing cabinets, clean glass table top in conference room, add water to drains in bathrooms, dust window shades, remove trash, shake door mat and sweep off front porch.
• Monthly> clean windows inside and out, clean light fixtures, clean porch areas.
SECURITY
Campus Buildings:
• Daily> Check (rattle) all exterior doors to buildings. Secure all doors as required. Inform Maintenance Director of any doors left unlocked by campus users. Open designated buildings for use by members, scouts, and others as required by campus calendar.
Parking lots and Grounds:
• Daily> Check campus sidewalks and building porches for burnt out lights. Report same to Maintenance Director.
• Weekly> Walk through parking lots to check for burnt out lights. Report same to Maintenance Director. Walk campus perimeter to check for any suspicious activity or damage to buildings.
Qualifications / Core Competencies
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
• This position is responsible for keeping the church campus in a clean, sanitary and safe manner. This position will be responsible for insuring that all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in a manner consistent with safe and efficient working practices.
• Knowledge of how to safely operate all housekeeping equipment used in campus buildings, have knowledge of simple cleaning equipment.
• Provide floor care to include sweeping, mopping, spray buffing, scrubbing, applying floor finish, etc. Provide carpet care to include vacuuming, spot removal, bonnet cleaning and extraction. Wall-to-wall carpeting, rugs, entry door mats, etc. Should be vacuumed at least once daily or as scheduled by the supervisor.
• Ability to determine quality of restroom care, detect odors of burning materials, improper storage of cleaners and chemicals, etc. Must be able to use cleaning chemicals and cleaning agents necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
• Know the opening and closing procedures to include operation of the alarm system.
• Replace light bulbs and tubes, ceiling tiles and other building supply items, which are provided for installation by the Maintenance Director.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to work Swing Shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm) Sunday through Thursday
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
