Bethany United Methodist Church, Austin celebrated several special events on Sunday, October 16. The church consecrated their new Worship Center and celebrated 40 years as a body of Christ. 
 
Bishop J. Michael Lowry, bishop of the Central Texas Conference and former Bethany pastor, came back to preach a sermon. They also consecrated their financial commitments for 2017, and joined together in fellowship with a special brunch.
 
Special guests also included District Superintendent of the Capital District Rev. Teresa Welborn, charter members, and former pastors. The services included the chancel choir and praise band, as well as the orchestra and handbell choir.
