The Academy for Congregational and Community Transformation (ACCT) provides a comprehensive catalog of courses tailored for both laity and clergy. The institution is committed to fostering growth and facilitating positive transformation within communities. With a focus on congregational development and community engagement, the academy offers a diverse range of courses aimed at equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful impact. These courses cover various aspects of community development, leadership, and collaboration, empowering participants to contribute to the overall well-being and transformation of their congregations and communities. 

Fall Course Offerings & Descriptions:

(Start date: week of September 9th; meets weekly)

Neighboring Jump Start
A five week online cohort for teams to jumpstart neighboring in and around their church. Learn and practice connecting with neighbors, discovering gifts, and sustaining a neighboring culture.

Engaging God's Mission Locally
A twelve-week online incubator for lay and clergy leaders with an idea for mission beyond the walls of traditional church: fresh expressions, community-based projects, or shifting an existing program toward mutuality and abundance.

The Art of the Sermon
An eight-week training course designed to guide you through the intricate process of crafting and delivering impactful sermons. A comprehensive journey into the art and science of sermon preparation and presentation. Participants will engage in interactive sessions that combine theoretical insights with practical exercises, all aimed at helping you create sermons that resonate and inspire.

Grants & Resource Exploration
A twelve-week training course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to research, write, and secure grants, as well as explore alternative funding options. Each week, participants will engage in interactive sessions that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, ensuring they are well-prepared to support their church’s mission and projects.

Community Engagement & Ministry
An eight-week online course based around practical tools from Asset-Based Community Development, Social Network Mapping, and Human Systems Dynamics.
