This year’s theme, Stand Strong, Stay Engaged, Supportive Community. As our civil liberties and freedoms are being challenged and reversed by the Supreme Court, governors, and school district, it is important for our laity, pastors, and congregations to collaborate and organize as communities empowered to address these current inequities.
Protecting our freedoms and preserving our Culture serves as a call to action, Stand Strong, Stay Engaged, Supportive Communities.
While our fundamental freedoms are at risk, we must celebrate the richness and vibrancy of our culture. This year we are inviting Campus Ministers, College Chaplains, and their students to join their voices at SCJ BMCR. A portion of our time will be held on the beautiful campus of Dillard University with Dr. Rochelle Ford, President. We will share time with Bishop Delores Williamston, the first African American female elected to the episcopacy from the South-Central Jurisdiction and the resident Bishop for the Louisiana Conference. Our “Family Reunion” will conclude with an inspiring Gospel Brunch featuring the Dillard University Gospel Choir and various gospel artists. Do not miss out on three days of worship, fellowship, and informative workshops. There will be vendors to offer their services and products, also.
