Social Media has become an accepted method of ministry communication for both current and potential community members. Yet, how do we move beyond announcements and pictures to really engage with a community? People are asking “What does the church have to say about issues affecting my life and can we have conversation?” The church needs a strategy to engage and connect on topics that matter in the lives of our community.
In “Ministry Social Media: Beyond Events and Pictures” J.R. presents a short overview of the most used and talked about social media tools such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Periscope and how they are being used effectively by ministry teams. Then the program will move into a discussion about engaging your audience:
· How, when and where to have “real” conversation
· How to recognize over communication and blandness
· Implementing a strategy to publish, monitor and engage using Social Media
