St. Philips United Methodist Church, in Round Rock, is seeking a Nursery Attendant.

The position is for part-time work in our church nursery. Our nursery is open Sunday mornings from 9:00 am – 12:15 pm. We are a Ministry Safe program, which requires two adults present with any number of children. We also have various activities throughout the week which will require two adults present along with some weekend activities and special events which will require attendants.

Position Description:
The Child Care Attendant is responsible for the care of infants, toddlers, and pre‐school children during Sunday school and morning worship time. The attendant will be the primary contact with the parents and will communicate through actions and words the Children’s Ministry purpose of providing a safe learning environment so that children might be nurtured into being followers of Jesus Christ.

Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a team of employees and volunteers.
• Help set up the nursery on Sunday mornings.
• Receive children from parents using the security policies.
• Love and care for all children in the nursery.
• Change all diapers, clean all spills, and maintain the area with a high level of sanitation and appeal to the eye.
• Engage the children in creative play, songs, Bible stories, and otherwise provide a happy, wholesome experience.
• Monitor condition of nursery equipment and supplies and alert the Children’s Minister as needed.
• After all children have departed, disinfect teaching materials/toys and return to their proper bins and location.
