Hurricane Harvey Information, Updates, How You Can Help

Our Early Response Teams are already on the ground in the Coastal Bend. We continue to need additional trained ERTs and funding to support their work.

How You Can Help

As communities and emergency responders begin their response to the storm, the best way to help is through financial contributions. Please do not attempt to send clothing or other resources as this point as they will only get in the way of relief efforts. If you wish to volunteer, and you are ERT certified, please see below. Otherwise, please wait until professionals and early responders have evaluated the situation. We will post volunteer information as it is available.

If you are a member of a local church in Rio Texas you may choose to add your individual gift to your church's overall giving to the fund. Just check the box on the online donation form.

You can also give through your church. Churches can direct funds to the Rio Texas Conference Disaster Response Fund - CONFERENCE ADVANCE #2057. Offerings collected on Sunday can be mailed to the conference office.

Individuals can give online or mail checks to:

Rio Texas Annual Conference United Methodist Church
16400 Huebner Road
San Antonio, Texas 78248

Please specify "Conference Advance #2057" in the memo line.

Churches, if you are involved in the evacuation/relief effort, please let us know at and let us know how we can support you.

Our on-going conversations with the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) began before Hurricane Harvey made landfall.  We are seeking UMCOR’s continued support for assistance now and throughout the recovery for months and perhaps years to come. Our coordinated work with UMCOR augments our Conference Disaster Response ministries and includes access to a robust relief supply network, experienced disaster responders, training and generous financial support. Please give to UMCOR Advance #901670
