Youth Leader

The Journey United Methodist Church, in Kyle, is seeking a Youth Leader.

About the Position:

As our Youth Leader, you’ll be the driving force behind empowering middle and high schoolers. Dive into crafting exciting programs, hosting memorable events, and providing invaluable mentorship. Together, let’s build a dynamic, inclusive community where young hearts can connect, grow, and discover the boundless love of Christ!

• Time Commitment: 20 hours monthly, comprising preparation time and leading classes or youth meetings. Typically Sunday-focused, with flexibility for meetings on other days if preferred. Additionally, coordinating 1-2 annual youth retreats.

• Compensation: $450 a month

Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership: Develop and lead engaging, spiritually enriching programs for middle and high school youth, both on Sunday mornings before church and in the after-church sessions.

• Mentorship: Build meaningful relationships, providing guidance on their faith journey.

• Collaboration: Blend youth activities into our ministry by teaming up with church leaders.

• Event Coordination: Organize youth events, retreats, and service opportunities through after-church meetings.

• Support: Assist the pastor with confirmation classes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum age: 22 years old.

• Education: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Christian Studies, Worship Arts, Theology preferred).

• Commitment: Strong commitment to Christian values and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Experience: Previous youth work experience, preferably in ministry.

• Skills: Excellent communication, creativity, and collaboration skills.
