Salary Range: $27,000 to $32,000

Position Summary: We are seeking a Family Life Director who is spiritual- ly grounded, faithful, compassionate, adaptive, deeply present, and energetic. The Family Life Director is responsible for the spiritual development and growth of all children and youth at Travis Park Church, from cradle through cap and gown. In this role the director will also support and en- courage the families of children and youth. The Family Life Director should have experience working with children and youth populations in a faith set- ting.

Responsibilities:
● Provide families with resources aligned with students’ age, stage and our theology and practice; equip and support faith formation at home alongside church activities
● Participate fully in the life of the church by attending worship on Sun- day mornings, and other inter-generational church activities
● Attend weekly staff meetings
● Recruit and encourage volunteers for children and youth min- istries from throughout the congregation. This will include Sunday school teachers and youth sponsors.
● Manage communications for children and youth programs, including social media
● Manage ministry budgets and be a faithful steward of our resources
● Become a Safe Gathering certified trainer and pass the required background checks.
● Coordinate and facilitate Safe Gatherings certifications for staff and volunteers through the Rio Texas UMC Conference
● Pursue continuing education opportunities related to children and youth ministries(reimbursed by Travis Park Church)
● Encourage growth and community within children and youth min- istries

Children’s Ministry:
● Hire and manage nursery workers (schedules, payroll, Safe Gatherings)
● Maintain the ‘Prayground’ in the sanctuary or other inclusive program
● Plan and facilitate weekly Sunday school for all children; develop or curate fruitful curriculum for all ages
● Oversee and facilitate yearly Vacation Bible School experience
● Plan and present ‘Children’s Moment’ during Sunday worship in coordination with the pastors
● Oversee and train acolytes and other participants in worship
● Assess and adjust programs to meet the needs of Travis Park Church children and families
● Create and maintain healthy relationships with children and their fam- ilies

Youth Ministry:
● Plan and facilitate weekly youth formation activities including Sunday school and youth group gatherings
● Oversee youth faith formation through teaching, discussions and experiences
● Plan and execute special events such as: Fall lock-in, Winter Retreat, seasonal parties
● Plan and attend yearly summer mission trip and choir trip in col- laboration with youth choir director
● Plan and execute fundraising opportunities for youth programming
● Encourage youth to participate in all aspects of church life, including Sunday worship
● Maintain a visible presence at the local youth events and at- tend as possible any performances, concerts, and sporting events for the youth; promote outreach and invitational hospi- tality with their friends and in the community
