Director of Family Ministries

Servant Church is seeking a part-time Director of Family Ministries (20hr/week) who will lead ministries for children, youth, and families by working in collaboration with staff and volunteers. This person will promote and nurture the faith formation in our children and families and is thereby expected to uphold a standard of Christian maturity, demonstrated trustworthiness as a leader of children and adults, and an inclusive approach to faith exploration.

- Children form friendships with each other and where a community is built in which every child is welcomed and valued

- The learning environment is safe, inviting, and effective

- Children form friendships with adult mentors who can help them grow in their faith

- Parents and families are nurtured and equipped for the task of guiding in a household of faith

- Volunteers are recruited, trained, and celebrated

- The congregation is informed and engaged in our common ministry with children and families

- Children learn how to see connections between God’s story, their lives, and the world

- Children and families feel empowered to pursue justice for all creation through both community service and interpersonal acts of kindness and courage

- The community recognizes our ministry with children and families as a collaborative effort and all work as partners in the ministry of the whole church

Qualifications: The person we are looking to hire will...

- Demonstrate spiritual growth, authenticity, and leadership of others

- Have congruence with Servant Church theology, mission, and values

- Exhibit a passion for ministry with children and families and the role the congregation can play in the development of both

- Have a Bachelor’s degree

- Have 2 or more years (preferred) of experience in leadership role in Children and/or Family Ministries

- Have an inclusive theology and be welcoming of all family types

- Exhibit strong organizational, management, and leadership skills

- Communicate effectively with individuals as well as with large groups of all ages

- Work well with and in teams

- Demonstrate familiarity with social media platforms to enhance ministry

- Thrive in the ever-changing needs and environment of a growing and vibrant small to medium-sized congregation.
