Development Director, Rio Grande Valley based

Position Summary: The Project Transformation Rio Texas (PT) Director of Development (DD) based in Rio Grande Valley will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from partnership development to individual donor cultivation. The DD is an executive-level position that will work closely with the CEO to cultivate and undergird PT’s growth and sustainability to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services.

Job Description

Project Transformation Mission and Vision:

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Classification: Full time, exempt status

Job Duties:

• Model Project Transformation’s core values: mutual relationships, intentional community, connectional ministry, discernment of purpose, empowerment of young people, servant leadership, holistic development, and Wesleyan practice of faith, specifically:

• Manage RGV site operations as a part of the PT staff including RGV program implementation to meet the needs of Children, College, and Churches.

• Oversee all PT fundraising activities with a focus on funding specifically for the RGV geography in coordination with the CEO, board of directors, local advisory councils, and development committee.

• Create new and build upon existing partnerships to increase funding, people, and collaborations in the RGV.

• Responsible for donor cultivation, utilizing Salesforce to enter, track, and generate reports to ensure timely and accurate data.

• Research and write grants to include new audiences and develop better relationships with donors and other corporations.

• Organize RGV fundraising events including PT’s annual Partners in Transformation luncheon.

• Develop and maintain department budget and communicate needs with the CEO and PT’s Sr. Director of Operations & Impact.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (can be in progress), with prior nonprofit or development experience a plus.

• An enthusiastic, highly motivated personality with the desire to make a difference and shares a commitment to PT’s organizational values.

• Ideal candidate will take initiative and show tenacity to demonstrate the ability to manage and successfully execute the work in the context of a remote organization. Offer and seek answers and options proactively, in consultation with the CEO, colleagues, and partners.

• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to relate effectively to people from all social and economic backgrounds.

• Spanish language skills.

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and knowledge of, or

willingness to learn, Salesforce, WordPress, video conferencing, and graphic

design software.

• Experience with event management.

• Ability to read and understand organizational budgets and balance sheets.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Reliable transportation with valid Texas driver’s license, insurance, and ability to

travel to Austin and San Antonio.

• Complete the TRUSTED con Confianza Certification (Rio Texas Conference

safety policy and training ministry—instructions upon hire).

Compensation:

Starting salary of $35,000 with increase potential based on funding development. Package includes health and retirement benefits after a 90-day probation period, and paid PTO and holidays. Travel expenses including accommodations, mileage, following PT travel policies.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday with occasional evenings/weekends.

This position will office at the PT office in the McAllen/Edinburg area and will require travel to Austin and San Antonio.
