Tarrytown United Methodist Church located in central Austin, Texas, is seeking an entrepreneurial, creative, and organizational leader who will lead the congregation to be more active and present with our neighbors; connect people of all ages to a deeper sense of belonging, involvement, and spiritual growth by meeting people where they are and leading them to take their next steps in the faith; and assist the Senior Pastor and Administrative Board in advancing our vision. More specifically, The Director of Connection and Engagement will work with volunteers to design events aimed at connecting people with one another and with the church; oversee our assimilation process; oversee our volunteer ministry, and assist with leadership development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative in connecting with needs in the community; model personal friendliness and hospitality; and be adept at building a volunteer culture that recruits, trains, supports, encourages, and deploys volunteers.
