Hospitality Ambassador

Travis Park Church, a reconciling United Methodist Congregation, is seeking a hospitality ambassador.

Job Position: Hospitality Ambassador
Reports to: Office Manager
Hours of work: 20 – 25 hours/month; Sundays from 7:30pm-12:30pm or 8:30am-1:30pm, with opportunity to work other special events
Salary: $15/hr
Parking provided, uniform provided after 90 days

Summary:
We’re looking for energetic people with outgoing personalities and a desire to make a difference in the world to join our Hospitality Team. This position is responsible for actively welcoming guests into our space and showing them where to go, providing a great guest experience for people from all walks of life, and making all people feel welcome and safe in our worship space. Ambassadors enjoy talking to and engaging with others and are accepting of ALL PEOPLE.

• The ability to remain calm and collected under pressure
• Compassion and sensitivity for people from all walks of life
• The ability to deescalate and resolve emergent situations peacefully
• Adherence to dress code standards, and a general neat and orderly appearance
• Must be able to stand for several hours at a time, walk up and down 3 flights of stairs, and lift 30lbs easily

Job Description
• Embodies Travis Park Church’s hospitality: greet ALL guests with a warm and positive attitude, make people feel welcome, give personal attention to every guest
• Ensures a safe and comfortable environment is maintained for all guests
• Communicates with other Hospitality Ambassadors to ensure coverage of all areas
• Follows assigned duties on the morning timeline
• Liaises with Corazon to meet the needs of our houseless guests receiving services in the basement
• Primarily stationed at the front doors, McNees Hall, Sanctuary, and Labyrinth Room
• Proactively looks for safety issues
• Safe Gatherings certified within the first 90 days of employment
• Complete the Sunday Morning report in a timely manner
