Why Zoom?

The Rio Texas Annual Conference wants to leverage technology to help you reach the mission field. One of the ways we do that is by facilitating video conferencing. There is nothing more powerful than meeting face to face. However, sometimes time and distance make that impractical.

We have partnered with Zoom to make video conferencing as simple and affordable as possible. Zoom is free for you to use. The only limitation of your free account is that the meetings are limited to 45 minutes each. Many members of the annual conference have access to upgraded accounts that allow them to host meetings of unlimited length. You may be reading this page because you have been invited to such a meeting.

If you need access to an upgraded account for conference business, you can contact the Rio Texas Conference Media Center: media@riotexas.org or call 210-408-4500. We have a limited number of accounts that we can make available for use or we can help your ministry purchase an account.

Zoom: www.zoom.us - The Rio Texas Conference is currently using zoom as our main platform for video conferencing. Accounts are free unless you upgrade to a pro account. The only serious limitation of the free account is the length of meetings. Free accounts are limited to 40 minutes. However, Zoom has some very powerful features. My favorite is dynamic voice detection which automatically figures out who is speaking, raises their volume and puts their image on the screen. It is very helpful for larger meetings. The screen sharing feature is also very easy to use and allow you and the group to look at documents, files, images, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
