The purpose of the Rio Texas Conference Clergy Wellness Program is to offer opportunities for clergy to improve their health in a holistic way, to support them in serving as strong leaders for our congregations and ministries. We are very grateful for the generous support of Methodist Healthcare Ministries toward this end.

Looking toward 2018, we are working to make the Clergy Wellness Program simpler and easier to access. As a step in that direction, for the remainder of 2017, we've boiled down options and incentives for physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness and have included everything you need to participate, all in one place. Clergy spouses and lay conference staff are also eligible to access these resources and incentives.

If you are already participating in the current conference clergy wellness program and are familiar with the components, reporting, and incentives, feel free to complete your program as planned.  If you have not participated with the wellness program to date or have not completed all the components, following are a variety of incentives you may choose to engage now. To receive your incentive(s), just submit your report(s) by December 15, using the link below.

Physical Wellness

Participants may choose one of the following two activities to earn an incentive.  (Of course you can actually do both activities! Only one will earn an incentive.)

1. Holiday Self-Care: "Maintain, Don't Gain" – Take care of yourself during this stressful yet joyful season! Stay active in a way that works for you. Enjoy special holiday foods in a balanced way. See if you can keep your weight the same or less between the beginning and end of the reporting period (November 2 – December 12). Report your starting weight by November 7, and report again at the end, by December 15. Incentive: $50

2. Activity Tracking – Provide proof of current participation in either Virgin Pulse (for persons covered by conference health insurance) or other tracking platform (Apple, Nike, Fitbit, etc.). Upload a screen shot of your profile page or a recent summary report of your tracking results. The purpose is to show that you are set up to track your physical activity. The $100 incentive can be used to purchase or upgrade a tracking device. Incentive: $100
While not necessary for this incentive, it’s even better if you’re actually tracking your activity!
